| Hominy warms to Mexican cuisine
On a hot Sunday afternoon toward the end of summer, a Jeep SUV was parked on Main Street with the doors unlocked and the engine running.
In Tulsa, you'd be kind of brave -- or maybe kind of dumb -- to leave your keys in the ignition. But in Hominy, Alex Galvan and her father don't think twice about walking down the street for a snow cone to give the air conditioner time to work.
"Crime?" her father says. "In Hominy? Don't worry about it."
Javier Galvan used to run an authentic Mexican restaurant in east Tulsa, where he attracted loyal customers and earned a positive review from the World's food critic. But crime was a constant worry.
"Stealing. Shooting. Robbing," he says. "Too much goes on there."
A year and a half ago, when he heard about an old burger joint going out of business in downtown Hominy, Javier jumped in his Jeep to have a look around.

Q. I have a small, portable one-room air conditioner that I've used for several years. Now, some of the grease has leaked from the rear of the unit onto the vinyl siding of my house. How do I clean it off?
A. Always try soap and water first or the cleaner that is recommended. Having said that, and because the grease you're describing is probably a petrochemical based material (not silicone), it can probably best be cleaned using something like gasoline or acetone.
First, make sure there are no flames or sparks nearby, and turn off and disconnect any nearby appliances that could spark while you're working. No smoking during this project.
Then, simply put a very small amount of gasoline onto the rag and wipe. The stain will disappear.

PSEG giving $500K to shuttered NJ Museum
The shuttered State Museum in Trenton is due to receive a $500,000 multi-year grant from the PSEG Foundation, the first major gift to its year-old $13 million fund-raising campaign. New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells will host a public ceremony on Wednesday announcing the gift. "It's great to have that support and leadership from PSEG," said the museum's interim director, Barbara Fulton Moran. "It's wonderful." The grant represents a significant milestone for the renovation project, which is almost 2 1/2 years behind schedule and millions of dollars over original cost projections. Poor planning, construction problems and a dramatic change in the focus of the renovation have stretched an 18-month effort into almost four years. PSEG is not concerned about the delays in the renovation or the fact that the museum remains closed, a company spokeswoman said.
